Great fun and camaraderie amongst everyone and such a progressive performance from all!

Game 1 - EY Vipers

First game of the day, and the team still to learn about each others strengths.

Kangy's early shuts kept out a couple of definite trys, and we can't not mention Rice's excellent scoop and dive to score from half...

A very strong performance against eventual finalist, losing 3-2.

Game 2 - Norwich Rebels

No referee meant we had to run around trying to find one after the original tap off time, and the game time was cut short.

Bailey's short side scoop saw Brown score in the corner, with a great catch to boot.

Much better momentum in the game and team cohesion was growing.

Wakeham and Hennigan both broke the defensive line, to find Kangy in space to dot down, whilst Wakeham's last scoop of the game saw him put Bailey over, to secure the 4-3 win.

Game 3 - Crewe and Nantwich Blaze

On the live stream, so best foot forward!

A fast tap off, and 2nd phase razor move from Wakeham with a pass to winger Brown, saw us go ahead in the opening set. A more relaxed game, and flowed well. Hartley took two more scores, with his lethal step, while Teager's pass to Wakeham got him on the scoreboard with us taking the game 4-1.

Game 4 - PFT

We got ranked 8th from our pool results, and so got drawn against Chargers off-shoot, PFT.

Wakeham's quick movement and feet saw him dive over the line to give us a good start. A couple of defensive errors saw PFT go 2 ahead, until Captain Bailey turned on the after burners to make it even. Rice's full length score saw us go ahead again, but a later defensive shut from us saw the equal the scores, to go 3-3 at half time. A couple of scores from PFT saw us chasing the game a little in the second half, Teager's excellent chop line gave us a late try, but we went down 6-4. Game 5 - Cambridge Rice's sweeper play saw us go ahead in the opening stages, but Maynards hammer saw the Wasps equalise quickly. Bannisters shut down and Pearces chase out kept out a couple of scores. Some good composure and a well executed game plan saw Rice bag a hatrick, Kangy take another on the wing, while Hennigan took the 5th, to see us head into the 5th/6th play-off winning 5-3. Game 6 - Exeter Eagle Owls A slow start, saw us go one behind after the opening whistle. Wakeham's longball to the wing saw Kang's safe hands catch it in the air, then stepping inside their winger to get us going. Hartley's step back saw a well executed under pressure pass to Hennigan as he put us ahead. Hartley took another with his fast feet, and in the last seconds of the game scooped through to put Bailey over to clench the 4-3 victory. A hugely respectable 5th place (out of 24) with 4 wins from 6 games across the day.
